#Endocrine disruption (ED) continues to be a concern for #human and #environmental #health and a very promising area of #research. Based on conventional techniques, testing chemicals for endocrine disruption is burdensome in terms of cost, time, and animal use, which explains why few chemicals have been thoroughly evaluated.
During his #internship at #KREATiS, Haythem has been correlating the #chemical structure of the compounds to be studied with their #biological activity in a quantitative way using a different #molecular #descriptors and machine learning models, in order to predict the potential #toxicity of candidate ED substances.
